The 12 Best Met Gala 2024 Hair Looks Recapped
The global elite descended on New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 2024 Met Gala, and with them came hair, fashion and beauty looks seen around the world.
Under the theme ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, the red carpet bore witness to, as always, a myriad of bold fascinators, a dress made out of literal sand and the total elimination of Kim Kardashian’s waist, among so many other things.
In celebrity culture’s most audacious gala event, these were the hair looks that caught our eye.
Kim Kardashian
The aforementioned Kim K paired this waistless dress with her ever-trending dark-rooted, lightened blonde hair and, bizarrely, a dishevelled cardigan.
Amanda Seyfried
This take on silver hair look took the trend to its extreme, as stylist Renato Campora painted Amanda Seyfriend’s upstyle silver, perfectly blending it into a tiara accessory, and complementing her outfit as well.
Greta Lee
For Greta’s first Met Gala, hairstylist Jenny Cho opted for a hand-chopped wig, styled into an on-trend mullet cut for a decidedly cool-girl edge.
Gigi Hadid
Having debuted her new-look bob in March, Gigi showed it off at its most classic and glamorous here, as created by Laura Polko for Joico.
Sydney Sweeney
I’m sorry, the old Sydney can’t come to the phone right now. Showcasing the Met Gala’s power of transformation, Sydney was near unrecognisable in shoulder-length black hair, opposed to her usual blonde tresses.
Lil Nas X
Kim wasn’t the only celeb rocking bright blonde tresses, it’s for the boys too, seen here on Lil Nas X.
Keke Palmer
Giving new meaning to the power ponytail, Keke Palmer redefined hair height in this truly upstyle.
Kendall Jenner
Kendall’s hairstylist Tamás Tüzes drew inspiration from the Renaissance-inspired dress, giving it a modern twist.
Cardi B
Cardi got the memo that hair height is trending, between volume on the red carpet and these gravity defying shapes and structures.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph
Auburn hair is always a favourite and we loved Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s fiery transformation.
Chloë Sevigny
All the way in the conceptual, stylist Mustafa Yanaz styled Chloë Sevigny’s intricate braids into what was an homage to ‘Victorian mourning hair’, in line with her fashion era.
Nicki Minaj
What did you think of this year’s looks?
