Yovanka Loria Extensions Debut Education Roadshow
Yovanka Loria Extensions took their hair extensions education and styling concepts on tour in Melbourne and Queensland events on September 23 and 30, respectively, for the YL Roadshow. Educating 16 guests at Telleish Hair Studio in Melbourne and then 11 students at Botanica By Collective Space, Queensland, the tour headlined US guest artists Anianne Rivera and Sarah Goode as part of the line-up, with plans to take the tour and line-up to the US in 2025.
Anianne and Sarah joined the YL Education team of Yovanka Loria, Olivija Dejanovic, Emma Sorensen, and Justine Eve of Eve the Salon, who educated on techniques such as the award-winning YL Hidden Bead Method as they showcased live demonstrations of YL Extensions applications on models. Wavy and straight hair textures, custom colouring, styling techniques and an exclusive look at the latest YL Wavy Texture Collection were all part of the agenda, in evenings that prioritised creativity and teamwork.
“We were so excited to welcome such amazing international experts to our shores, and to collectively share our extensions methodologies with hairdressers around Australia. To provide our knowledge outside of our usual two-day education course, in a unique Look ‘n’ Learn platform, was something unprecedented for the YL brand,” Yovanka shared.
“The idea behind the Roadshow was to encourage a conversation around hair extensions that creates an entirely new business model. Everything – from micro weft hair extension installation to custom colouring, cutting, styling, after-care, and social media and marketing business strategies – was supported by such amazing creatives and brands.”
Ani brought her extensive expertise as a salon owner of Mourning Hair and marketing and branding expert, while Sarah brought her skills and as a hair extension expert and know-how as a stalwart of BLEND Cutting Education. The duo showed off skills and gave insights spanning from weft colouring to blend cutting, social media strategies, and content creation.
“After intense preparation and two years working with the YL Education team, I can say that the Roadshow was the best two weeks of Education I’ve ever experienced,” Olivija said. “Working alongside Yovanka, Ani, Sarah, Justine, and Emma was honestly a dream come true. The amount I learnt on the first day of the Roadshow in Melbourne has changed the way I educate and my confidence completely. Education is something I am so passionate about and I’m so lucky to be working alongside an amazing team all over Australia and now the US.”
“Being part of the YL Roadshow was truly an honour,” Justine added. “It was an incredible opportunity to stand alongside some of the most talented and influential stylists in the industry, including Ani Rivera and Sarah Goode who are setting the new industry standards all the way from the US. The energy and knowledge they brought were inspiring and reminded me of the importance of continuous growth in our craft. What made this experience even more special was the sense of community; not only did I have the chance to inspire others with my own techniques, but I was equally inspired by the incredible work and dedication I witnessed from everyone involved in organising and attending the Roadshow.”
The education series was sponsored by Haircare Group Australia, with each attendee taking home thoughtfully curated gift bag featuring products thanks to Evo Hair, Haircare Group, Comfortel Furniture, Foil Queen Foils, Yovanka Loria Extensions, Mourning Hair, Coach Ani, and Caitlin Muir Coaching.
Yovanka Loria Extensions will continue to build its education contingent to showcase the potential for extreme growth in-salon, help to elevate the client experience and re-shape the industry standards of hair extensions.
“Since 2020, YL Extensions has been stocked in 110 salons across Australia and have educated 140 stylists, providing them with a comprehensive blueprint for successfully creating transformations that empower both the stylist and the client – we can’t wait to continue to share the magic of hair extensions with a new audience in a fun and interactive way,” Yovanka said. “The Roadshow truly showcases how to create value by specialising in niche services and support stylists to generate real business impacts.”
