Karla Špetic took to Afterpay Aystralian Fashion Week to present MINERALE, with O&M as the hair styling sponsor, Revamp as the tools sponsor and session stylist, salon owner and educator Ben Martin as hair director. Ethereal, long, beautiful hair looks defined the hair brief, adorned with hair stamps to represent frequencies.

“The hair gives a free and floating feel, making it effortless and accessible, stamped with a hint of texture,” Ben said. “Inspired by the music that will be played during the show, the hair textures represent sound waves, while the straight part-lines nod to the collection’s gem print designs.”

This mystical vibe correlates to the collection, defined by an earthly reconnection.

“‘Everything is energy, I was thinking about reconnecting to the natural world. I wanted to get back to basics and tap into that,” Karla said. “The collection is a vision with fluid bias-cut dresses, relaxed and deconstructed tailoring, multi-crystal printed bodycon pieces and cut-outs. Each model’s hair was designed to reflect the earth’s frequencies by incorporating wave kinks as a unique stamp for each model’s hair in a really organic way.”

Atonic Hair Thickening Spritz, Frizzy Logic Finishing Shine Spray and Original Queenie Firm Hold Hairspray were hero products. Alongside these products, styling tools from Revamp Australia became an essential component of the look’s hero bend.

“432Hz frequency is said to have a profound effect on our consciousness all the way down to a cellular level, we wanted to marry this back to the looks for Karla’s collection, stamping the hair with textures of frequency representing high and low frequency waves. The look is called ‘Stamps of Frequency’,” Ben said.

The brand’s 6-in-1 Air Styler was used for smoothness, shine and volume, while the Diverse tool created the low frequency stamps and the Steamcare Straightener created the high frequency waves by using a pinching technique. The Revamp tools are infused with Progloss™ super smooth oils, Keratin, Argan and Coconut for ultimate smoothness.

“I love the diversity of attachments,” Ben said of Revamp. “Rather than filling my kit with a separate tool for every technique I can back one tool with a wide range of interchangeable heads for a variety of techniques, saving massively on weight and space in my kit. It means I don’t have to make decisions about what I carry with me, everything is always there.”

Get the look:

• STEP 1: Section the head into four down the partline to the nape and ear to ear.
• STEP 2: Starting at the nape, taking sections one inch wide, apply a generous amount of O&M Atonic to the dry hair, roots to ends. Working all the way through the head. Hair should feel like it has a generous amount of product.
• STEP 3: Return to the nape, using the same one inch sections, use a large Boar Bristle brush. Do not use a metal or ceramic barrel brush. Gently blowdry the product into the hair, making sure to not curl the ends under. We are creating air, shine and smoothness, not a bouncy blowdry.
• STEP 4: Once the blowdry is complete, apply a small amount of O&M Frizzy Logic Finishing Shine Spray over the top layer of the hair.
• STEP 5: Blowdry using a brush into the top layer of the hair.
• STEP 6: Each model will be stamped in a different location on the hair. Stamps will be done using a small application of O&M Original Queenie, before clamping with a three barrel tong.
