Vaucluse House in Sydney hosted Blanca Studio’s Resort 25′ Collection, titled Jardin, at Australian Fashion Week, with O&M and John Pulitano creating a fluid yet effortless, pinned back editorial look for the show.

“I’m so excited to be directing the hair for Blanca Studio this year using O&M,” John shared. “Every girl will have a different kind of look, but we are channelling a fluid, effortless, and raw hairstyle. We wanted to complement the collection itself which is very chic, sheer and soft. There’s a bit of embellishment to the garments, so we’ve gone for an ‘invisible pinned back look’ with the hair, keeping it simple and contour free. It’s very natural, with enhanced textures and rawness. The Blanca girl is chic, cool and understated and the hair really shows that.”

Speaking to an outdoor, resort, summer vibe, the hair look played with natural textures, organic fluff and quirky flyaways as a playful ode to what John described as the “summer, spontaneity and confidence” of the collection. Hero products &M Original Queenie Firm Hold Hairspray and Atonic Thickening Spritz were instrumental in achieving looks that finished fashion creations that could be worn from work to the bar.

“The collection draws on the garden setting as inspiration. Lush and bountiful, bright and blooming, it’s a playground for exploration, ripe for worldly discovery and understanding of self – age is no matter,” shared Blanca Studios designer Ana Piteira. “The collection’s palette features vibrant integrations primed for self-expression – red, orange, lilac and a striking cyan blue – pared back with approachable neutrals. Classic whites, timeless denim and hints of grey, black and brown allow the Blanca woman to tweak and take.”

Get the look:

• Step one: Apply Atonic Thickening Spritz into dry hair, from roots to ends.
• Step two: Dry hair very naturally, embracing the natural texture to bring out a natural ethereal wave.
• Step three: Go in with a tong to enhance the wave, brushing it out softly.
• Step four: Apply Original Queenie Firm Hold Hairspray to create a bit of flatness underneath at the roots, then blow dry in the roots to create flatness around curve of head.
• Step five: Drag hair around the contour of head and place hair pins to secure at the back, to accentuate the occipital bone for secureness and shape.
• Step six: Finish with Original Queenie Firm Hold Hairspray.
