AFW 24: Redken X all is a gentle spring
all is a gentle spring took to the final afternoon of Australian Fashion Week with a unique format, forgoing cameras by prohibiting photography and instead giving guests the ability to write and draw their thoughts and reactions. Redken and Diane Gorgievski complemented the fashion show with old Hollywood glamour.
“The inspiration is 1938 Hollywood glamour, thinking Lauren Bacall kind of vibes, and what we’ve done is we’ve modernised it by pulling it out a little bit,” Di said. “The collection’s really clean and beautiful but the roots of it all is that real Los Angeles style, what it looked like back then.”
This look complemented what Di refers to as the “beautiful” fashion and accessories, like hats and corsets, with luxury lines and fabrics as collection staples.
The hair team used Redken’s Root Lifter and Fashion Work 12 Brushable Hairspray as hero tools, with wig work in feature looks.
“Look out for the girls with the wigs on, we prepped the wigs overnight and really worked it so they look really special,” Di shared.
Hand-sewing and couture techniques defined the fashion collection created by the brand’s creative director Isabelle Hellyer, with displayed steel boning, balletic inspirations and top-tier craftsmanship adding to the aesthetic.
