Aveda Global Artistic Team Debuts the AWE Collection
The Aveda Global Artistic Team have unveiled the AWE collection, which celebrates the profound influence of hair and the extraordinary artistry within nature at its core. The collection serves as a reminder to be present and connected within ourselves, with its aesthetic inspiration drawn from self-expression and the marvels of nature.
“AWE has the power to inspire and connect us, not just to the vast universe, but to ourselves and the people around us,” shared the Aveda Global Artistic Team. “In a time of rushed, fragmented moments, AWE is the slow and steady connector. It brings us into the present moment and makes us grateful to be there. As a result, we are less anxious and more open to it – and each other. We believe in the power of AWE to transform the ordinary and ignite the extraordinary.”
The personalised collection delivers individual looks tailored specifically to each model and their inner spirit, with no two cuts, colours, styling techniques or product combinations being the same. The looks vary in texture, length, style and hue, with the brand’s colour and styling tools leading the way across the board.
The five looks are led by a graduated cut, performed on wet hair and in sections for model Sophia, with a dual-textured style and deep coral colour. Created by Renée Gadar, Aveda Global Artistic Director for Textured Hair, the brand’s Aveda Nutriplenish™ Leave-In Conditioner, Aveda Nutriplenish™ Curl Gelée, Aveda Control Force™ Firm Hold Hair Spray were utilised for hydration and form. Aveda Enlightenment Blonding, Full Spectrum Permanent™ and Full Spectrum Demi+™ built the custom hues for this look and across the range, under the artistry and guidance of Ian Michael Black, Aveda Global Artistic Director of Hair Color.
Next, model Lindsay showed off a disconnected, short box bob with an undercut, created by Aveda Global Artistic Director for Hair Cutting, Ricardo Dinis, as complemented by Ian’s blend of espresso brown and metallic sierra blue multidimensional colour. Both the cut and colour highlighted a versatility in being dynamically and variously styled. Aveda’s Botanical Repair™ products built bonds and strengthened the hair throughout this transformational process.
For Clara, a colour-blocked look, with feature bursts of magenta was a hero image, styled with a warrior-of-nature aesthetic that was both sophisticated and playful. Aveda Pure Abundance™ Style-Prep,™ and Aveda Control Force™ Firm Hold Hair Spray set and finished the style, respectively.
The looks were complemented by makeup made to match each model’s unique style, skin tone and hair colour by Janell Geason, Aveda’s Technical Education Aveda Global Artistic Director, Makeup, with makeup assistance provided by Andrea Holton. Fashion styling by Cindy Warner, photography by Michael Haug, creative direction by Merge and words by Abby Debruine further brought the collection to life.
