BTL Takes Legal Action Against WonderFace for Patent Infringement
BTL Group has filed an international patent infringement action against Lexter Microelectronic Engineering Systems S.L., the manufacturer of the WonderFace device. The case, lodged before the Unified Patent Court, centres on BTL’s protected EMFACE® technology, which pioneered facial lifting by combining selective muscle stimulation with radiofrequency heating. This breakthrough established a new category in non-invasive facial rejuvenation.
BTL’s CEO, Tomas Schwarz, confirmed the company’s firm stance on protecting its innovations:
“We will vigorously defend our intellectual property to protect the investments of our clients. This lawsuit marks the beginning of our broader effort to take legal action against any third party that we believe infringes upon our innovations.”
If successful, the ruling will restrict WonderFace distribution across 18 European jurisdictions, reinforcing BTL’s leadership in medical aesthetics and its ongoing commitment to research-driven innovation.
