Everything We Know About Hair Festival 2025 So Far

Hair Festival 2025 is coming ever closer, taking place at Sydney’s ICC on June 29 and 30, 2025, with pillars to help you shop, learn, compete and connect across the hair industry. In 2024, over 6,000 people streamed through the doors to enjoy over 90 brand exhibitions, nine competitions and dozens of education sessions that elevate the hair industry as a whole.

2025 is set to be bigger and better than ever, and we are already counting down. Here’s everything we know and that you need to know as we head towards June.

Shop

You can expect a myriad of versatile brand activations over both days of Hair Festival, covering hair cut, colour, style, extensions, straightening, education, philanthropy and more, as well as dedicated Barber and Business Hubs to elevate your career. This entire Festival Hub is completely free to register for, and comes up with a free Hair Festival bag of goodies.

In business, talk payroll, insurance, accounting, leasing, marketing, branding and beyond with a range of companies, and sit at the all-new Business Connect stage that hosts business discussions for salon owners, managers and independent hairdressers with 15 minute key topics. Men’s hair will show the latest barber products, tools and equipment, as well as insights with on-stand presentations.

Additionally, THE STAGE. will offer free bite-sized education throughout the entire event, as leading brands and hairdressers offer diverse education and model displays so you can take a seat, learn and be inspired. THE STAGE. will also host the Hair Festival competitions so you can see live hair competitions for yourself. Also stop by The Hub as a space to connect and network. Snacks, food, coffee and installations will be available throughout the Festival Hub.

Learn

The event’s large spectrum of Education Sessions will cover hair from every angle, across creative hair, business, wellness and beyond. Brands such as Danger Jones, Indie Hair Academy, Hair Candy Australia, BKT Beauty, De Lorenzo and Inspire Brands are already on the docket to cover hair extensions, straightening and colour, with so many more still to be announced.

Education will also kick off with the REALtalk Business Forum, which next year, in its fifth iteration, will focus on building strong brands with panel discussions and keynote speakers offering advice and insights into technology, asset creation, brand consistency, social media, brand personality and messaging. Headliner James Needham, Co-Founder and Joint Strategy Director of international strategy studio Untangld, will educate on a session titled ‘Redefine Your Brand Story’, with other speakers adding to this theme. An interactive planning session on brand execution, coffee, morning tea and a buffet lunch will also fill out the agenda.

Compete

The Hair Festival Competitions are a highlight of this major weekend, taking place on Monday morning at THE STAGE. Last year, hairdressers competed over nine awards to find the ultimate Hair Festival Champions, from women’s to men’s and emerging talent. Show off your bridal, colour or editorial talents and so much more – or just come watch to get a slice of the action.

Connect

The Hair Festival Wonderland party has garnered a reputation as hairdressing’s party of the year, and this year the event will centre around the theme of Mystique. Taking place on Sunday night, June 29, off-site, at Campbell’s Stores, The Rocks, with an iconic view of Sydney’s Harbour, attendees can expect installations, entertainment and décor all centred around this theme, as well as music, food and drinks amidst an immersive journey of themed room activations. Think a VIP lounge bar, dancefloor and mystical areas.
