Here’s what you missed at this year’s Cosmedicon
The insightful conference encompassed three days of unmissable education, insight and live demonstrations with both key national and international speakers.
The conference kicked off on Wednesday evening with the Hugel Aesthetics pre-conference event. Attendees were treated to a night of networking and socialising with other professionals in the industry, all while learning about the latest advancements in the field of aesthetic medicine and anti-wrinkle interventions.
The following three days were packed with scientific presentations and educational workshops, including pre-conference workshops hosted by Hugel Aesthetics and Dermocosmètica. Some of the renowned doctors and key speakers included Brisbane-based Dermatologist Dr Davin Lim, Sydney-based Cosmetic GP & Obstetrician Dr Liz Golez, and international Plastic Surgeon Dr Michael Kane, who took to the stage to share their expertise with delegates. Their presentations covered a range of topics, from the latest trends in aesthetic medicine, injectables, regenerative medicine, menopause, and other innovations in aesthetic technology.
Dr Lim’s presentation on the use of 755nm wavelength in a pico laser as opposed to a 1064nm was particularly insightful. He discussed the benefits of utilising the 755nm, which can significantly improve the appearance of stubborn pigmentary conditions such as melasma, with higher efficacy than 1064 pico lasers can typically offer.
Dr Liz Golez presented on the use of EmpowerRF by Inmode for non-surgical female gynaecological rejuvenation. She highlighted the importance of understanding the prevalence of gynaecological concerns, pelvic floor laxity and incontinence, and expressed the need of awareness of practitioners working with female patients to educate themselves in this specific area to support women at all stages of life.
Dr Michael Kane’s presentation focused on the new anti-wrinkle injectable solution, in which he explained the chemical composition and comparativeness with evidence from clinical studies, this highlighted the future of aesthetics through research and development.
The post-conference full-day program held on the Sunday included a further full-day of workshops hosted by Cryomed Aesthetics, plus the Advanced Nurse Injector Aesthetic Practice Workshop workshop and Facial Injectable Training (FIT) and Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Techniques for Beginners.
