How BAHAH Is The New ‘Uber Of Beauty Services’
Bringing professional services straight to your clients door.
Imagine booking a beauty or hair appointment as effortlessly as calling an Uber. That’s precisely what BAHAH aims to achieve, bringing professional aesthetic and beauty services to the comfort of your clients homes.
BAHAH, founded by Jessie Alati, is revolutionising the beauty industry by creating a platform where professionals can operate independently without the traditional financial burdens.
For many beauty and aesthetic professionals, the path to independence is lined with steep financial barriers, including start-up costs, leasing expenses, and employment constraints that rarely match the dedication and skill of these professionals. Jessie recognised these challenges firsthand, leading to the creation of BAHAH—a free-to-use app that allows aesthetic professionals to run their own businesses without subscriptions or fees.
What led to the creation of BAHAH?
Recognising the financial challenges faced by salon & clinic owners, I became shockingly aware of the limited options available for those wanting to work independently. Many professionals find themselves in one of three difficult situations:
High Start-Up Costs:
- Starting their own business often requires significant investment—tens of thousands of dollars for leases, equipment, staff, insurance, advertising, websites, and payment systems.
Unsatisfactory Employment Conditions
- Remaining employed typically means enduring low award rates, which often fail to fairly compensate for their skills and hard work.
Career Change
- For some, the only option seems to be leaving the industry altogether in search of a new career path. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to work for themselves without incurring excessive costs. This belief inspired the creation of BAHAH, an app designed to empower beauty and hair professionals through a cost-free platform. By eliminating subscriptions and fees, BAHAH provides a unique solution that enables professionals to maximise their earnings whilst only working a fraction of the time. With BAHAH professionals can thrive in their careers without the financial burdens.
What’s behind the name?
The name BAHAH stands for “Beauty And Hair At Home,” reflecting our mission to empower beauty and hair professionals to thrive in their own space. As the founder, I may not be an expert in beauty products or treatments, but I deeply understand the fundamentals of building a successful business. I am fortunate to be surrounded by passionate, knowledgeable women and men in the industry who have guided the development of this app.
Together, we aim to create a platform that brings beauty and hair services directly to clients in the comfort of their own homes, while supporting professionals in achieving their goals.
What are the plans for your brand over the next 12 months? Anything you can share with our readers?
Changing an industry for the better is no easy challenge, but we are confident in our team, our concept, and our app. Over the next 12 months, we aim to attract a diverse range of talented beauty and hair professionals to work exclusively on BAHAH, enabling them to earn more while working fewer hours. In addition, we plan to introduce multiple new features based on feedback from our professionals. It’s essential to us that our providers have a voice in shaping the app to meet their needs and preferences. We believe that by listening to our community, we can create a platform that truly supports their success.
