L’Oréal Professionnel Style and Colour Trophy opens 2023 entries

Welcome the latest iteration of L’Oréal Professionnel Style and Colour Trophy, which for 2023 has the theme of Metamorphosis and is centred on the concept of disruptive hair and transformation. The competition will begin its competitive national format before the winner has the chance to compete on the global stage.

Entries are open now, with a closing date of July 14, before the semi final event takes place on August 6 and the final eight round takes place on August 19 and 20. The grand finale will take place on August 21, deciding the winner for the first time in a combined Australian and New Zealand hub. You can secure your tickets now to the semi final event at The Star.

Entries must consist of a before and after look, and include a front shot of the before look as well as a front shot of the after look and the side or back, all in colour. This must then be shared on social media using the hashtags #SCTrophy, #SCTrophy2023 and #SCTrophyANZ and tags @lorealpro_education_aud and @lorealpro_education_nzl, with descriptions that include the techniques and products used, as well as the objective of and inspiration behind the look.

Judges for the ultimate title include last year’s global winner Claudia Cataldo, as well as leading hairdressers Damien Rinaldo, Daren Borthwick, Adriana Marmino, Sarah Laidlaw, Matt Clements, Kelly Manu and Sally Hunwick of marie claire.

This year will also usher in two new categories for the awards – the Newcomer Award and the iNOA Award, which will highlight artists who have never entered the competition before, and the power of iNOA technology, with a minimum of 75 per cent iNOA used, respectively. Judges in these categories include Amy Connolly of Indah Salon in New Zealand, Karlie Roberrts of LNDN Hair and Maria and Joe Cotroneo of Zink the Element of Hair.

Australia and New Zealand have represented incredibly well in recent times, with Wendy Gunn, Massimo Tirimacco and Claudia Cataldo securing the last hattrick of global wins, so the competition looms as an unmatched platform to transform your business and discover the international limelight in this historic competition.
