Malibu C Wins 3 Global Green Beauty Medals
Malibu C have been awarded for their commitment to sustainability and innovation, by winning three 2024 Global Green Beauty Awards medals, honouring their new EcoBlu packaging, which will arrive in Australia in 2025. The awards focus on sustainability in a myriad of sectors.
Malibu C took home medals at the September event including silver in Best Biodegradable Packaging and Most Sustainable Packaging, and bronze for Best Green Haircare Brand.
“We are incredibly honoured to be recognised by the Global Green Beauty Awards. These awards underscore our commitment to sustainability and innovation, and we are proud to lead the way in delivering clean beauty solutions that are both effective and environmentally responsible,” said Loretta Mottram, CEO of Malibu C, to Beauty Launchpad.
The innovative, eco-friendly packaging builds on the brand’s near 40-year legacy as an industry pioneer, with nature-inspired, patented technologies and haircare collections centred on featuring the most potent form of crystallised ascorbic acid (vitamin C), giving the brand its title. The products are made in the USA with formulas that are 100 per cent vegan and cruelty-free, without gluten, parabens, sulphates or preservatives.
The brand also prioritises recyclable packaging, and the new EcoBlu packaging is made from 98 per cent recycled materials, as well as being designed with Eco-One technology. This technology enhances the biodegradation of plastic bottles into biogas that can be converted into energy, as well as carbon dioxide and inert humus that makes soil richer. Independent ASTM D5511 tests that represent biologically active landfills on representative packages have shown 60.6 per cent biodegradation in 388 days. The technology is pioneering across the food packaging, apparel and footwear industries, and now in hair and beauty as well.
