New Zealand’s Jade Scott Named Matrix 2024 All Star
The winners of the Matrix All Stars Competition 2024 were announced in the inaugural iteration of a platform that celebrates the artistry and passion of hairdressers across Australia and New Zealand. With a theme entitled ‘Turn Up The Heat’ and open to hairdressers with all levels of experience, entrants were tasked with showcasing their creativity and technical skills through a photographic or short video presentation of a single vibrant and innovative look using Matrix colour and styling products.
The competition received hundreds of submissions, which were assessed by an expert judging panel to narrow each region down to ten finalists, who then participated in live recreation events held at L’Oréal Academies and host sites across Australia and New Zealand. This provided a valuable platform in recreating the looks live amidst a supportive community of hairdressers.
Congratulations to the six regional winners in this competition – Cheyenne Orr of Hairhouse Victoria Gardens for VIC, Kelly Powell of Hair by Kelly Powell for NSW, Charleigh Garrot of Hairhouse Joondalup for WA, Rebecca Maio of Acqua Lounge Hair Studio for SA, Emogen Pooler and Jessica James of The Barracks for QLD and Jade Scott of Jade The Alchemist for NZ.
The winners each received a $7,500 career-building prize pack that included return flights to Sydney and five nights of accommodation to experience a three-day Pro Artist experience, including a Content Creation Day, and exclusive backstage access at Hair Festival, as well as a free day to explore and experience Hair Festival for themselves. The Pro Artist experience allowed the winners to develop their skills alongside leading Matrix artists, where they learned the latest trends and techniques, which built on through the inspiration of being at the centre of the hair industry at Hair Festival, all of which proved an invaluable opportunity for growth.
