O&M brought back understated luxury at Farage for its Summer 26′ Collection at Australian Fashion Week, as hair director Mary Alamine, co-owner of Royals Hair in Sydney, created a polished, luxury ponytail. Farage is an Australian, family-owned brand that pairs classic tailoring with modern twists, evoking minimalism and sophistication.

“The main look we worked on today is very polished, we wanted something that was quiet luxury, sleek and sophisticated,” Mary shared. “We wanted a style that aligned seamlessly with the collection, think timeless elegance and refined structure. That meant keeping things clean, minimal, and incredibly considered. We did a sleek ponytail, with a sharp middle part which accentuates each models’ features whilst mirroring the collections elegant sophistication.”

The O&M Atonic Thickening Spritz, used for creating texture and as a heat protection, as well as the PS Balm, which ensured a slick aesthetic and locked in structure, were hero products. O&M Original Queenie Firm Hold Hair Spray was also key for male and female models.

“For the men’s looks, we enhanced their natural texture with a bit of polish. Some of the guys have longer hair, so we worked in subtle, low ponies to introduce a touch of androgyny without losing that effortless feel,” Mary said.

• Step one: Start by sectioning the hair and layering in Atonic Thickening Spritz for added texture and volume.
• Step two: Using a blow dryer, smooth the hair with directional control to set the foundation.
• Step three: Create a defined middle part, then apply another layer of Atonic Thickening Spritz followed by a light mist of Original Queenie for hold.
• Step four: Take a triangular section at the front of the head, leaving out the face-framing strands. Gather the remaining hair into a sleek ponytail and secure with an elastic.
• Step five: Apply Original Queenie, then gently sweep the face-framing pieces back, connecting them to the ponytail while maintaining the crisp middle part.
• Step six: Take a small section from the underside of the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic for a polished finish.
• Step seven: Lock in the style with a final spray of Original Queenie for long lasting, effortless hold.
