Heading across to the AHFAs this weekend? Here’s what you can expect

A huge weekend in hair is coming soon, with the Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFAs) weekend made to connect, inspire and educate the hair industry. The weekend offers celebratory events, educational opportunities and a pinnacle awards evening, which are all taking place on Sunday and Monday, November 12 and 13.

Kicking off the festivities, the Mane Stage 2023 will take over the Sunday with an inimitable line-up built to help hairdressers elevate their craft. Seven artistry-packed sessions will deliver immersive, powerful and relevant training to take back to the salon. Mane Stage will be held at Sydney’s The Star ballroom from 9am to 5.30pm.

The line-up includes the Social Media Superstars group of renowned artists, including Sarah Emilia, James Earnshaw, Belinda Mills, Kaine Vakai, Dom Pelli, and Chantelle Maree, who will teach, with their exceptional expertise, how to elevate your social media offering.

Next, the seminar titled From Backstage to Runway with Davroe’s Jordan Robertson and Madison Voloshin will take you into the world of session style, with the secrets behind gravity defining hair as built with pace, precision and products in some of New York, Paris, London, Sydney and Milan’s most iconic looks.

R+Co Technicolor with Richy Kandasamy and Renee Valerie, two international colour leaders, will offer unparalleled colour education covering dynamic trends, top-tier techniques and bold transformations.

Next, the TrendVision Colour Out Loud with Wella Professionals’ James Ernshaw session will run the gamut from high contrast shades of blonde to cool combinations of tonal browns, dreamy pastels and optimistic brights, with a focus on the pinnacle colour blocking trend. Wella Professionals and ghd global ambassador James Earnshaw will showcase his interpretation of the trend to cater to your clients in a dynamic way.

Additionally, the 2023 FAME Team will present WOMAN, showcasing their takeaways from a year of mentoring, which included a trip to London’s Salon International. Conducted alongside Lauren McCowan, Jack Morton and some very special guests, the team will present their new collection of adaptable and relevant cut, colour and editorial looks.

Dyson Ambassadors Pete Thomsen and Eoin McCarthy will present a Styling Masterclass that shares their expert insights across iconic blow dry techniques, men’s and shorter hair tips and more.

Lastly welcome The World of Liquid Colour with Redken featuring Sheree Knobel, Justin Pace, Kaine Vakai, Kyra Williams, Ash Wuilleman and Sara Briscoe, which unveils everything you need to know about liquid hair colour thanks to these Redken professionals. Discover the secrets to vibrant, shiny liquid hair colour, with a focus as well on repair.

After this important day of education, the Wella VIP Vision Industry Party, as brought to you by M DIVISION and Wella Professionals, will be hosted at The Landing at The Star from 8pm to late. Dance, network with the industry and be inspired by a bold hair show from Wella Professionals’ Renya Xydis.

The festivities will formerly finish at the AHFAs, brought to you by Dyson, held at The Star Ballroom from 6pm on Monday November 13. The evening includes a Dyson Runway Show courtesy of Dyson Ambassadors including Renya Xydis, Damien Rinaldo and Michael Beel, as well as musical acts and an official afterparty, as the industry recognises and celebrates the leading talent in Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
