You Are More Than A Hairdresser: Wellness Education to Take Place at Hair Festival 2025

You Are More Than A Hairdresser: Wellness Education to Take Place at Hair Festival 2025

A two-hour experience will usher in the Monday morning of June 30 on the second day of Hair Festival at The ICC, Sydney, as Mariana Ibrahim, Cheryelle King and Jake Putan present ‘You Are More Than A Hairdresser’ thanks to The Holistic Shift.

“Step into a space where you can open your body, free your mind, and reconnect with what it means to truly care for both yourself and your clients. You are so much more than just a hairdresser, and your clients are so much more than a haircut,” the trio shared. “Expect a grounding blend of somatic education and real-world application that will leave you inspired, resourced and reconnected.”

The session will guide attendees through practical, accessible tools to elevate the way you serve clients while creating a sustainable and fulfilling work environment, in what is described as “more than burnout prevention, it’s a recalibration of how you show up in your craft and your life”.

Mariana will bring her experience as a third-generation hairdresser who is now renowned as a transformational hair therapist and founder of The House of Metamorphosis. Mariana has worked in commercial hair for four decades but has focused more on deepening interactions with her clients and studying a Diploma of Transpersonal Counselling over the last 25 years. She is a student of NLP, hypnotherapy, breath work, personal training, diet and nutrition, art therapy and dance and has since created Hair Therapy by M. In her work, she merges interpersonal relations with professional transformations to support and align hairdressers and clients.

Cheryelle has over 30 years of experience as a hairdresser and salon owner who thrives thanks to holistic business methods. She is a long-term educator, coach and businesswoman with qualifications in Training & Assessment, Leadership and Marketing, as well as being a NLP Master Practitioner, who helps salon owners create successful, team-driven and holistic salon ecosystems. She is also the author of the program and book titled The Ultimate Apprentice Training Program, which empowers salon owners to train with confidence and supports sustainability and growth as a mapped resource.

Jake Putan speaks from his personal experience as a celebrated barber and hairdresser who has found purpose and meaning through the craft of hairdressing and now sees salons and barbershops as pillars of community wellness. He educates on the responsibility of that role and his approach in stepping back to find the true meaning of this profession.

Don’t miss this session amongst many versatile and dynamic Hair Festival Education Sessions over hairdressing’s biggest weekend.
