Grin Natural wins Westpac business award
New Zealand oral care brand Grin Natural is “delighted” to have have taken out the Excellence in Community Contribution award for the North & West region at the 2019 Westpac Business Awards.
Selected from nearly 500 businesses who entered this year, the Excellence in Community Contribution award recognises organisations that implement initiatives that have a positive impact on the community and generate outcomes that have a long term benefit.
Grin’s award recognised the success of their Share A Grin campaign, that last year saw them donate over 50,000 eco-friendly toothbrushes to Kiwi kids who needs them the most, through a ‘buy one give one’ drive.
New Zealand is being faced with a dental crisis, where 40% of Kiwi kids under the age of five are suffering from dental decay – one of the highest rates in the OECD. For Grin, the Share A Grin campaign was an essential way of contributing to alleviate the heartbreaking dental health statistics of children here in New Zealand.
“The reason we wanted to create ‘Share A Grin’, was to raise awareness and drive change about the issues happening in our own backyard, and importantly – inspire individuals and local communities to take action and make better choices, encouraging them to change their lifestyles and health habits so that both kids and parents could have better oral health, less health problems, and lead happier lives,” says Grin GM, Tara Tan.
Tan says Grin Natural, who have received numerous awards this year across beauty, wellness and sustainability in business categories, are overjoyed with the Westpac Business Award. The award further recognises Grin Natural as a leading New Zealand brand, bringing innovative, sustainable products to the oral health care market, with uncompromised standards of quality, while cultivating sustainable relationships with both their customers, the community and suppliers (locally and abroad).
