New Zealand pregnancy skincare brand partners with Mecca
Pāpāmoa born beauty brand, Pure Mama, has partnered with Mecca, the largest prestige beauty retailer in Australasia.
From the 1st of August, Mecca customers across Australia and New Zealand will be able to purchase Pure Mama, alongside 200 world-class beauty brands. The partnership is particularly exciting as it marks a new category for Mecca, with Pure Mama being the first-ever pregnancy targeted skincare brand ranged online or in store.
Founded by mother of two Lara Christie in 2018, the idea was inspired by her own pregnancy journey.
“When I fell pregnant I was really surprised by the lack of pregnancy-specific body products available, especially as our skin changes so much during this time and needs extra support,” explains Christie.
Pure Mama founder, Lara Christie
“I wanted to create a product range that harnessed the powerful, natural ingredients often used in facial skincare, such as Pomegranate and Raspberry Seed Oil, and concentrated levels of Vitamin E, which are miracle workers for skin hydration, elasticity and restoring skin. We then married these with tried and trusted base blends of coconut and almond oils to create a new, more nourishing range of skincare for pregnant woman and nursing mothers.”
The Pure Mama range is anchored by its best-selling Belly Oil – an all-natural, antioxidant packed oil that’s been expertly formulated to deeply nourish a woman’s growing body throughout pregnancy. There are three additional products in the range—a Magnesium Body Rub, Nipple Butter, Bump Scrub—which complement the hero oil.
Pure Mama joins fellow Kiwi brands Emma Lewisham and Syrene Skincare as the third New Zealand brand to gain ranging in Mecca’s network of stores, which total over 100 across Australia and New Zealand.
