New Zealand spas recognised at Annual World Luxury Spa Awards
A multitude of global spas were honoured at the 2019 Annual World Luxury Spa Awards, and some premier New Zealand locations were awarded among them. The annual awards were established in 2010 to offer a voice to clients and industry members in recognising international spas across a range of categories. Over 250,000 international voters have their say during a four-week period to select the winners, with over 600 nominees across over 65 categories. New Zealand’s excellent beauty practices, service elements and often cultural points od difference set these spas apart across the many national and international categories.
Reaching the pinnacle of success for New Zealand spas, Spa At The Pullman Auckland won on a global scale in the category of Luxury Business Spa. The spa is described as an “urban oasis”, with an expansive sun terrace, heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room spa, fitness facilities, private lounge and six treatment facilities. Its renowned services include facials, body care, massage, anti-ageing treatments and much more.
Other New Zealand salons won in more regional areas, often exhibiting important touch points of New Zealand culture. In Australia and Oceania as Continent winners, Victoria Nathan of Chuan Spa Auckland won for Best Spa Manager, Mantra Beauty and Body Spa won for both Best Unique Experience Spa and Luxury Ayurveda Spa, and Brackenridge Spa won for Luxury Countryside Spa. So SPA at Sofitel Queenstown Resort and Spa was named the Luxury Destination Spa, Lotus at Siam Thai Day Spa was called the Luxury Garden Spa, the famous Onsen Hot Pools Retreat and Day Spa was called the Luxury Mountain Resort Spa and the Marula Hot Springs were titled the Luxury Eco Spa, as well as the Luxury Mineral Spring Spa.
For the internal awards within New Zealand, there were many worthy winners.
