NZSCM Conference 2024 will see the Southern Hemisphere’s First Launch of Profhilo Structura
The New Zealand Society of Cosmetic Medicine’s (NZSCM) highly anticipated annual conference is set to return to Queenstown this August. The event, emceed by Kate Rodger and taking place at the Millenium Hotel on the 15th to 18th of August, promises to be an intimate and high-energy gathering, bringing together highly respected doctors, nurses, and dentists from around the globe.
Regarded as New Zealand’s premier academic event for the cosmetic medicine industry, the NZSCM Conference offers delegates invaluable opportunities to foster connections and engage directly with world-class speakers.
“The intimate environment of the Millennium Hotel in the heart of Queenstown allows everyone to chat and interact with our speakers in a way that is not possible in a more sales-oriented convention centre environment,” says Dr Paul Nola, one of the featured speakers. “Making and reconnecting with friends keeps people coming back – and if the social programme and gala dinner are not enough, then Queenstown is at your doorstep.”
“Cosmetic Medicine has a rapid pace of change and frequent new developments. This creates many opportunities to improve and expand our practices,” adds Clinic 42’s Dr Ellen Selkon. “Queenstown attracts delegates and speakers from all over the world. This year, our speakers from Brazil, United Kingdom, Korea, Australia and New Zealand will bring a level of education that is world-class and wide-ranging.”
Emma Lindley, a cosmetic nurse from Injectables by Emma, has been an avid attendee of the conference for the past 11 years. “The reasons why I love attending this conference are its beautiful Queenstown location, the collegiality in this group, the speakers are phenomenal and there is something to learn every single year – even just a little pearl or a little tip or trick. They also have the most fabulous dinners!”
The conference programme is packed with informative sessions covering the latest advancements in cosmetic medicine, including fresh techniques, new treatment modalities, safety protocols, and changes in the regulatory environment. Meanwhile, panel debates on controversial topics provide an opportunity for in-depth exploration and discussion, making this event a valuable learning experience for both experienced practitioners and newcomers alike.
One of the highlights of the conference will be the launch of the new Profhilo Structura. Attendees will be the first in the Southern Hemisphere to see the highly innovative product, which is set to revolutionise the field of cosmetic medicine.
As the only body recognised by the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) to train and regulate cosmetic medicine doctors, NZSCM upholds the highest levels of professionalism and expertise. The conference is recognised for its dedication to Continuing Professional Development (CPD), enabling delegates to accrue valuable credits. A graduation ceremony for trainees who have completed the rigorous two-year Diploma of Cosmetic Medicine, is another highlight of the conference. This ceremony further underscores NZSCM’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of cosmetic medicine professionals.
Given Queenstown’s popularity as a ski destination, it’s recommended to book accommodation and flights early, as options may become limited closer to the event date.
