PSB’s Donna Smith celebrates 25 years in the professional beauty industry
Professional Skin & Beauty (PSB) founder, Donna Smith, is celebrating a significant milestone, with 25 years at the helm of one of New Zealand’s leading distributors.
The beauty veteran’s journey began in 1998 from her spare bedroom, distributing cosmeceutical brand, Environ Skincare. Over the years, PSB expanded to become one of the industry’s largest distributors.
The initial powerhouse brand Environ Skincare, which has received over 100 awards internationally, most recently – ‘Top Medical Skin Care Line’ in the global Aesthetic Everything Awards for the sixth consecutive year – was joined in 1994 with jane iredale Mineral Cosmetics. The cruelty-free brand is part of the Leaping Bunny Programme globally, and this year was added to the NZAVS (NZ Anti-Vivisection Society) Cruelty-Free Guide NZ.
Over 25 years, Donna has also fronted numerous major industry initiatives and mentored hundreds of therapists, doctors, and nurses in advanced skin and treatment modalities.
Donna attributes her success to a combination of determination, hard work, people and teamwork.
“A business is only as good as the people who work in it and this business has had a fantastic team of people, now and along the way, who not only shared my passion and values but also their hard work and great ideas,” says Donna.
“I am privileged to work with the founders of such amazing brands – Professor Des Fernandes and Jane Iredale who both had the passion and dedication to make amazing products that would change the look of skin and skincare into the future and who continue to deliver on that promise.”
Reflecting on her 25 years, Donna credits PSB’s loyal stockists, many who have been with her since the outset. “Of course, we would not be here without our incredible stockists, an extraordinary group of people who work long and demanding hours, juggling business, staff and family, some who have even been with us the entire 25 years.”
