View The AHFA New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year Collection
The Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFAs) took place this week and went international, awarding the New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year title for the first time. Chinney Yeap of Salute Hair & Day Spa took home this coveted award for a collection titled Thru The Looking Glass.
“This collection was so special to me, it was a reflection of my journey, and facing some hard challenges over the last two years with having baby number two and being a new business owner during a global pandemic and feeling like I was literally Alice in another world,” Chinney said on social media.
The collection is a bold and vibrant mix of wild hair textures, intricate techniques, intriguing shapes and wearable, dimensional hair hues, set against vivid fashion prints and floral motifs. With photography by Jock Robson, makeup by Chay Roberts and styling by Sopheak Sang, every facet unites to inspire.
