ghd debut 2023 Pink campaign
ghd have unveiled the 2023 instalment of their annual pink campaign, expanding on a 20-year legacy of supporting breast cancer charities globally. The campaigns have raised more than $35.6m NZD in total worldwide, as well as pushing powerful advocacy, with the message of the importance of being breast-aware and self-checking breasts.
This year, ghd continues its Take Control Now campaign, with a new line of soft pink peach tools emblazoned with this message.
Locally, ghd have been supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand for 19 years, donating $1m NZD to the cause. Committed to raising more funds for their breast cancer charity partners, with every purchase of the new ghd pink limited edition ghd will donate $20 to the charity.
“We’re incredibly grateful for our long-term partnership with ghd. With more than $1 million raised through this partnership since 2004, ghd’s generosity has allowed us to make a significant difference for Kiwi women affected by breast cancer,” says Ah-Leen Rayner , CEO at BCFNZ. “Not only have the funds contributed towards ground-breaking research and patient support, this partnership has also helped us to reach more younger women with life-saving breast health messages. Around 400 Kiwi women under the age of 45 are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, so we’re honoured to be working with ghd to spread vital messages about the importance of early detection.”
The 2023 campaign tells the real-life story of Becksy Silverwood, a professional dancer who was diagnosed with breast cancer at 29 years old, highlighting the importance of self-check for early diagnosis.
The 2023 Pink collection, predicated on a soft pink peach shade, offers five limited-edition tools as well as soft touch zip bags, all of which showcase the ‘Take Control Now’ slogan. The collection offers the ghd ghd platinum+™ straightener, ghd glide hot brush, ghd gold® professional styler and ghd helios™ lightweight professional hair dryer all in these shades, as well as the ghd unplugged™ cordless styler, which is in pink for the first time.
