Schwarzkopf Professional debuts Essential Looks and new ranges at Auckland showcase

Schwarzkopf Professional debuts Essential Looks and new ranges at Auckland showcase

On Monday 7th of August, Schwarzkopf Professional congregated the New Zealand hairdressing community to preview their Essential Looks, showcasing the forthcoming spring/summer trends for 2023.

An immersive experience dedicated to artistry, Essential Looks is an integral part of Schwarzkopf Professional’s DNA. Bringing to life the latest trends, the event equips hairdressing professionals with the tools and support needed to become the hairdressers of tomorrow.

Taking place at Glasshouse Morningside, the chic industrial venue set the tone for the fashion-forward looks to come. The hair masterclass and catwalk show was an ANZ interpretation of Essential Looks 1/2023, featuring guest artists Deanna Parker Attwood (AU National Ambassador, Wieselmann Salon) and Jennifer Morgan (NZ National Ambassador, Morgan and Morgan Salon).

The Essential Looks

Virtual Eden

Virtual Eden is a blend of naturalistic and futuristic elements, which come together to create an alternative virtual world. This taps into modern society’s quest for perfection and the rise of the metaverse. It’s life through a filter, curated by tones evoking nature’s inherent beauty. This is life as a dream, a utopian garden, where beauty and the ideal of perfection win overall.

Selfood

Selfhood is a snapshot of now, of youth culture at this moment in our time. Life is for living and constantly documenting. The way you look, the clothes you wear and the hair you have offer another medium to tell your story. The trend is dominated by a carefree, can-do positivity. This creates the freedom to not only embrace, but celebrate, your uniqueness. Selfhood originates from a diverse range of genres and styles to curate something which feels fresh and distinctive.

The Misfits

The Misfits casts a light on those who live in the shadows. Those who choose to find their own path. Who reject the hyper-consumerism and greed of modern society. Exploring nonconformity and the rejection of established societal norms and expectations, The Misfits is an ode to those who paint outside the lines. Paying homage to the dystopian undertones that characterise this subculture.

The event was also a celebration of two new Schwarzkopf Professional ranges: BLONDME and the relaunch of OSiS+.

BLONDME is a versatile colour and care system with integrated Dual Bond Technology, which enables hairdressers to overcome common blonde challenges and achieve stunning blonde looks.

With expressions of blonde more vast and varied than ever, the new collection seeks to prove that there is a blonde for everyone, irrespective of skin tone, hair colour, age or gender. Attendees were introduced to eight BLONDME key looks: Platinum Bounce, Platinum Purity, Regrowth Blonding, Melted Balayage, Peached Balayage, Weaved-In Blonde, Grey Blonding, and Pastel Blonde.

The new BLONDME products included a Precision Lightener, Premium Lightener 9+ Bleach, Deep Toning Peach Sorbet, Bleach & Tone, and Toning Clear.

OSiS+, Schwarzkopf Professional’s creative looks-based styling range, has had an overhaul. The new and improved collection now features different colour packaging for easier navigation, primarily vegan formulas, and improved recyclability.

The more intuitive portfolio is categorised by benefits including Smooth & Shine, Volume & Body, Curls & Waves,  2nd Day, Texture, and Hold.
